Protecting OUR river together

DEMAND EQUAL PROTECTION FOR ALL

The EPA has an obligation to enforce the Clean Water Act, yet the DeKalb County consent decree is actively denying the South River and its communities equal protection under the law.

Tell EPA to remove the "Priority" language from the DeKalb County consent decree.

This unprecedented language means the county is not required to fix the sewer system in “Non-Priority” areas which are primarily in south DeKalb – where the South River is and 71% of residents are Black. Further, the language undermines federal law under the Clean Water Act, setting a precedent that threatens people and rivers nationwide. Click here for more info.

Your message can be short & sweet. TALKING POINTS:

• Remove "Priority” language from the DeKalb County consent decree.
• EPA’s consent decree must enforce the Clean Water Act in all of DeKalb County.
• All people and all waterways deserve equal protection under the law.
• The EPA has an obligation to address ongoing environmental injustice.
• The EPA has an obligation to protect disproportionately polluted communities.
• Protect the Clean Water Act, the South River, and all people of DeKalb County.
